The school has a Junior Choir (Grade Two to Three) and a Senior Choir (Grade Four to Seven). Interested learners are placed after they have passed an audition. No fees are applicable for this activity.
The Junior Choir practices on Tuesdays from 07:15 – 07:45 and Thursdays 07:15 – 07:45
The Senior Choir practices on Tuesdays from 17:00 – 19:00
During rehearsals, attention is given to voice training. New repertoire is chosen according to the learners’ field of interest and level of development. It is important to us to expose learners to all the aspects of choir singing e.g. the enjoyment of ensemble singing, aesthetic discipline, a good choir tone, good choir music and folk music from different cultures. Both choirs get the opportunity to perform during assemblies, school functions, other schools, different churches, choir festivals and the Eisteddfod.
