Welcome to CJA JIU-JITSU
What is CJA about?
At CJA, we aim to teach children life skills, and effective self-defence, in a safe, controlled environment! Jiu Jitsu includes elements of Judo, Karate, and Grappling. Our program aims to develop vital skills, such as: endurance, flexibility, core strength, balance, co-ordination, and agility.
Warm up: Gets the body moving and warm! We move best when our bodies are loose.
Technique: We teach the kids a new technique / movement, or revise a previous lesson.
Practical (rolling): The kids get to Jiu Jitsu fight with a partner of their choice, apply what they have learnt as well as practice their own moves.
Strength: We focus on the major muscle groups, and become strong!
Stretch: After a workout, we always stretch the muscles out, to maintain a healthy, flexible body.

Jiu Jitsu gives children a headstart in life and promotes self-confidence, self-respect and self-discipline. It also helps to maintain a fit and healthy body, and a happy child!
Aside from the fun, interactive learning, the most important part, is to have fun whilst doing it!
Interesting to know!
- We are affiliated to various national and international organizations, so that participants have the opportunity to excel at an internationally recognized sport.
- An overwhelming percentage of students who persist with Jiu Jitsu, have become leaders who are successful in their lives, whether at school, or in the working world.
- Anybody can do Jiu Jitsu! Both girls and boys from 5yrs old and up are welcome!
Pre Primary: 13:15 – 13:45 in the Voortrekker Hall (Monday)
Grades 1 – 3: 14:30 – 15:15 in the Voortrekker Hall (Monday)
Grades 3 – 8: 15:15 – 16:00 in the Voortrekker Hall (Monday)
