Kids Literature (Lit) Club is for avid readers Grades 5 – 7. Members will meet in the library on Tuesdays straight after school until 15:15. Activities are centred upon developing, nurturing and sharing a love of English literature. Towards the middle of the year the focus is on preparing for the International Lids Lit Quiz which takes place in February each year.
Kenridge Primary enters two teams into the Cape Town heats of the Kids Lit Quiz. This is a major international literature competition in which teams of four students (Grades 5 – 7) work together to answer wide-ranging literary questions.
The South African Kids Lit Quiz consists of seven regional heats followed by a National Final for qualifying teams. The winning South African team is invited to attend the World Final overseas.
